The UC-321PL Precision Scale with wired communication provides highly accurate and precise measurements to 0.2 lb (0.1 kg). This scale has a “motion tolerance mode” to provide an accurate reading for those patients who are unsteady on the scale, a feature especially beneficial for elderly or fatigued patients. One of the thinnest and lightest scales on the market, the UC-321PL is only 1 inch thick and is easy to step on and store. Despite its low profile, this scale has a high weight capacity of 450 lb (200 kg). The UC-321PL is compatible with Microsoft Healthvault via a separate KO-3057 USB cable accessory. I bought this scale because I wanted to connect it with Microsoft Health vault. This version (321PL) does not allow one to upload data because it does not allow one to save the measured weight into memory. I spent 5 hours trying to get it to work. I am fairly computer savvy but could not fine any way to get it to work. I strongly advise against the PL version. No experience with other variants of this scale.

I did not buy this item. This product requires the additional purchase of a special cable, even though the picture shows the scale having the more conventional USB interface cable.While a great idea, the only reason that I did not buy this item, and therefore gave it a low rating, is because: 1) The picture conflicts with the product description, and 2) Again, according to the product description, you need to purchase a non-standard cable so that you may connect this to your computer. 3) It is not clear whether software is available or not. It does mention Microsoft Healthvault, but when I searched for that, all that I saw were paperback and electronic books. 4) If you own an "All-In-One" computer, it may not have an RS-232C connector (mine does not!). Older computers probably have this connector, but newer systems...?I would recommend that the manufacturer adapt the product to USB interface, as this would allow buyers to use the same cables that they probably already own -- Camera, printer, etc.Great idea, but I think some things need to be made more clear before I buy this.
