This scale is BIG--not for a tiny bathroom. But if you have the space, the design is retro charming. it's well made, accurate and consistent, and, best of all, easy to read. Plus NO expensive batteries.It matches my little vintage bathroom in shape and material (ceramic), but is so big I decided to put it in my small walk-in closet instead. A shame to hide it, but darn handy.

I love this scale. When you read the reviews DO believe it when everyone says it is BIG. Love that it's porcelain, love that it's retro, love that it's dial is big and easy to read. But definitely make sure you have room for it, because it's likely bigger than you might think. Good buy, sturdily built - you won't be disappointed if retro and functional is what you're looking for!

I wanted an analog scale for ease of use and not having to mess with batteries. I figured spending a little more I could get a nice one that would be accurate and last a while. I researched all the different scales and found Tanita to be in the higher range for quality and price. I was going to go all out and get their highest end analog scale, the Tanita HA503. I got it today and realized once again that greater cost doesn't always equate to better product. Once I got it out of the box I tried to zero it out and the needle wouldn't move smoothly and it varied +/-3 lbs in each direction. When I stand on the scale there is a range of about 3 degrees that it falls in each time I stand on it. Maybe my expectations are too high and maybe I should have gone digital, but this scale doesn't seem to measure any better than my previous one that I paid $20 for.
